The book gives tells about the different kinds of horror, what kind of stuff makes a good plot, writing monsters, etc. The book is divided into three parts that are centered around the theme of the chapters. In other basic words, it's like a tutorial for horror writing.
Like I said earlier, I do not read a lot of non-fiction. However, I would recommend this without a doubt. Currently, I am trying to write a horror story myself, and this book has helped me out a ton. It helped me figure out how to make characters creepier and what not to do in a horror story. The parts I found the most helpful were making plots based on my own fears and how to make a monster scary by adding in stuff from the uncanny valley. Overall, the book has been very helpful in the ways of writing. It could help you find that one little detail you're missing. If you are a first time writer or an experienced writer in the genre, I'd recommend that you give this book a try. My rating: 10/10
